I bought the 6424 rather than the 6870 and my brushup is of the 6242 not the 6870 which are the same except for an upgraded video card – Nvidia, in the 6242. When I bought the 6242 it was 50 dollars more expensive than the 6870 and the upgraded video card seemed worthwhile. Since then Amazon has dropped the price of the 6870 which is directly approximately 150 dollars less expensive.
